New Real Estate, "Blue Lebaron".

New from Real Estate via their blog is a little demo for a song called "Blue Lebaron". Not sure what the band is up to right now, whether they're working on an album or just hanging out. Seems to be the latter, but here's a new one anyway.

Diplo remixes Sleigh Bells' "Tell Em".

So I didn't really know this, but apparently Diplo and the kids from Sleigh Bells are actually pretty close. In fact, I guess Derek from Sleigh Bells and Diplo are from the same part of Florida which Diplo describes as "shitty". Diplo posted this picture and remix on Mad Decent along with a really flattering description of his friendship with Sleigh Bells who he fondly describes as "bro and sis for life".

Animal Collective US and European tour dates announced.

When there was speculation that Animal Collective were going to go an hiatus in light of Panda Bear's success and Avey Tare's first solo album I was pretty bummed. A band, coming off their most successful album quitting just didn't sit right. Well, they've just announced US tour dates which is a good sign the band isn't done with one another just yet. Better yet, Deakin is rejoining the band making them a foursome again. You never know, good chemistry on the road could lead to another full length album.

Here's the dates:

04-11 Arcata, CA - Kate Buchanan Room
04-12 Redway, CA - Mateel Community Center
04-13 San Francisco, CA - Great American Music Hall
04-14 Big Sur, CA - Henry Miller Memorial Library
04-16 Indio, CA - Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival
05-14 Minehead, England - All Tomorrow's Parties
05-16 Eastbourne, England - Winter Gardens
05-17 Amsterdam, Netherlands - Paradiso
05-18 Brussels, Belgium - Les Nuit
05-19 Cologne, Germany - Electron
05-20 Berlin, Germany - Melt Wee
05-21 Warsaw, Poland - Stodola
05-22 Krakow, Poland - TBA
05-23 Vienna, Austria - Arena Vienna
05-24 Zagreb, Croatia - Pogon Jedinstvo
05-28 Barcelona, Spain - Primavera Sound Festival

Coachella lineup revealed.

Holy shit. Well if you've got $269 to dish out and a ride to Indio, Califor-ni-a, I'd say its pretty much worth it.

Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics now out on iTunes

Another big anticipated album, Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics is now out on iTunes. You won't be able to get a hard copy of it until February through Woodsist, but digitally the album is available. For those of you so persuaded, there's also a handful of leaks out there. Here's a track off the album featuring Panda Bear, "Killin' the Vibe". Really psyched on this one.

New Lykke Li video, "I Follow Rivers"

Hello hello hello.

Here's a video for "I Follow Rivers" off the upcoming album. Its pretty much just lyrics scrolling in a stylized fashion, but the song is pretty cool and it'd probably be good if you wanted sing along with friends or something.

Whatever your purpose:

New Panda Bear, "Abita Song", surfaces in skate video.

Soon after Tomboy's release date was revealed, this skate video surfaced on Collected Animals that uses a new song off the album. This, personally, is probably the best one I've heard so far. Its not a bad video either. Here:

New Panda Bear album gets release date!

(Photo by me, from Primavera Fest 2010)

Hello all,

Panda Bear's upcoming full length Tomboy finally has a release date. Here's a post from Panda Bear's Facebook:

Panda Bear's 'Tomboy' to be released April 19, 2011!

Panda Bear is the project of Animal Collective member Noah Lennox. Tomboy, his long-awaited fourth album as Panda Bear, and follow-up to Person Pitch, is now complete and will be released on his own label, Paw Tracks, on April 19, 2011.

So there you have it. Lots of good albums coming out this year. Can't wait.

Strand of Oaks video, "Last to Swim".

Here's a video from Philly artist (originally from my hometown of Wilkes-Barre) Strand of Oaks.

Also, here's a trailer for a documentary following Strand of Oaks and Juniper Tar. Its a pretty old trailer, but it seemed appropriate.

New La Sera, "Devils Hearts Grow Gold"

Another track (via Gorilla vs Bear) from La Sera, the Vivian Girls side project created by Katy Goodman. The full album (not sure the name of it) will be out on February 15th. I've gotta say, I really like where this is going. Pleasant, warm tunes. Here's a link.
